Hula dancers

Through mele oli (chant) and mele hula (dance), this epic poem of Pele, the Fire Goddess and maker of land, and Hi'iaka recounts the travels of Pele and her family, who ultimately settle on the island of Hawai'i.

The 60 member Halau o Kekuhi has toured this critically acclaimed show to sold-out audiences throughout Hawai'i. Plans are underway for possible tours to the mainland, Europe, and other Polynesian islands. If you are interested in inclusion of these tours, please send your quiry by e-mail.

From the east the woman Pele arrives,
From the land of Polapola,
From the red rising mist of Kane,
From the blazing clouds in the heaven,
From the billowing clouds of the sunrise,
The woman Pele erupts in Hawai'i.
